Chill glass
Place a rocks glass in the freezer or fill with ice to chill while you prepare the drink.
Measure mezcal
Add 2 oz Banhez Mezcal to a mixing glass.
Add vermouth
Add 1.5 oz Nebbiolo Vermouth to the mixing glass.
Add absinthe
Stir in 0.25 oz Absinthe to the mixing glass.
Sweeten
Pour in 0.5 oz Simple Syrup to balance the smokiness and bitterness.
Add citrus
Add 0.75 oz Fresh Orange Juice to contribute brightness and a touch of fruit.
Add ice
Fill the mixing glass with 1 cup of ice to help chill and dilute the cocktail slightly.
Stir
Stir vigorously for 20–30 seconds until well-chilled and properly diluted.
Add bitters
Add 2 dashes Workhorse Rye Bitters to the mix and give a brief stir to distribute.
Strain & serve
Strain the cocktail into the chilled rocks glass over fresh ice.
Garnish
Express the orange peel over the drink to release oils and drop the twist into the glass as garnish.
