Method
Prepare Chicken
Prepare Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix well.
Coat Chicken Wings
Dip each chicken wing into the wet mixture, then coat thoroughly with the dry mixture. Shake off any excess flour.
Fry Chicken
Heat Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 180°C (350°F).
Fry Chicken Wings
Carefully add chicken wings in batches, frying for about 8-10 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Make sure not to overcrowd the pot.
Drain Wings
Once cooked, transfer the wings to a wire rack to drain excess oil.
Make Sauce
Mix Sauce Ingredients
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine gochujang, soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, sesame oil, and rice vinegar.
Cook Sauce
Stir and bring to a simmer. Cook for 5-7 minutes until slightly thickened.
Prepare Street Food Side
Mix Vegetables
In a large bowl, combine shredded cabbage, grated carrots, and chopped green onions.
Dress Salad
In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce and rice vinegar. Pour over the vegetable mixture and toss to combine.
Finish Salad
Sprinkle sesame seeds on top before serving.
Serve
Coat Chicken in Sauce
Toss the fried chicken wings in the sauce until well coated.
Plate and Serve
Serve the chicken hot alongside the dressed vegetable salad for a complete meal.
