Beers
Chill
Place the Uiltje Wizzard Wit (or substitute Belgian-style witbier) in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours so bottles are well chilled (40-45°F / 4-7°C). Cold beer preserves carbonation and brightens aroma when served.
When ready to serve, gently invert each chilled bottle once to mix any settled yeast and cloud particles typical of a witbier. Avoid vigorous shaking to preserve carbonation.
Citrus & Spice Garnish
Toast coriander (optional)
Lightly toast 1 teaspoon coriander seeds in a dry skillet over medium heat for 1–2 minutes until aromatic. Smash lightly with the back of a spoon or in a mortar and pestle to release flavor. If using grains of paradise or cracked pepper, add to the crushed coriander or use alone.
Drop one orange slice into each chilled glass, sprinkle a pinch (about 1/8–1/4 teaspoon) of the crushed coriander (or alternative spice) onto the orange slice to release aroma as beer is poured.
Optional Serving Additions
If serving in very warm weather, add 1–2 tablespoons of ice to the glass before pouring; note that this will dilute and chill the beer more rapidly, changing flavor and head retention.
Garnish with a fresh mint sprig for an herbal note. Slap the mint once between your palms to release aroma and rest it against the glass rim or tuck into the orange slice.
Serve
Place the reserved orange half-slice on the rim and present immediately. Encourage guests to smell the orange and coriander before sipping to appreciate the beer's bright citrus and spice interplay.
