Method
Coffee Beans (Blend)
Weigh and Inspect Beans
Weigh 50 g (0.05 kg) of the house blend whole beans. Visually inspect and remove any obvious debris or very large defects.
Grind
Grind the beans just before brewing. For a pour-over (V60/chemex) use a medium-fine grind (similar to table salt). For drip machine use medium grind. For French press use coarse grind. Adjust grind to match your chosen brew method so extraction time targets the method's typical range.
Water & Brewing
Preheat and Bloom
Bring filtered water to 92–96°C (198–205°F). Preheat your brewer and serving vessel by rinsing with ~50 ml hot water, then discard that water. Place the ground coffee in your brewer or filter.
Bloom (for pour-over/automatic with manual pour)
Pour 60–70 ml of hot water evenly over the grounds to saturate them. Let bloom for 30–45 seconds to allow trapped CO2 to escape.
Continue Brewing
For pour-over: After the bloom, pour remaining water slowly and evenly in concentric circles until you reach 350 ml total. Aim for a total brew time of 2:30–3:30 minutes for V60, 3:30–4:30 for Chemex. For drip machine: start the brew cycle with 350 ml of water; total brew time will vary by machine. For French press: pour all 350 ml, stir gently, steep 4 minutes, then press slowly.
Serve
Once brewing is complete, immediately transfer coffee to a preheated cup or carafe to prevent over-extraction from residual heat. Taste and adjust strength next time by changing grind size, dose, or water volume.
Optional Add-ins
Milk / Froth
If using milk, steam or heat 60 ml to 60–65°C (140–149°F) and froth to desired microfoam. Pour over brewed coffee for a cafe-style drink.
Sweeten and Garnish
Add up to 10 ml simple syrup (or sweetener to taste). Garnish with a light dusting (about 1 tsp) of ground cinnamon or cocoa if desired.
