Brewing Coffee

Boil Water

In a medium-sized pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over medium-high heat.

Combine Coffee and Chicory

In a separate bowl, mix together 1 cup of coarsely ground coffee and 1 tablespoon of roasted and ground chicory root.

Add Coffee Mixture to Water

Once the water is boiling, remove the pot from heat and add the coffee and chicory mixture into the pot.

Steep

Cover the pot with a lid and allow the mixture to steep for about 5 minutes.

Strain Coffee

After steeping, strain the coffee using a fine mesh strainer or a coffee filter to remove the grounds.

Serving Coffee

Add Sugar (Optional)

If desired, stir in 2 tablespoons of sugar until dissolved.

Add Milk or Cream (Optional)

Pour in 1 cup of milk or cream to taste, and stir well.

Serve Hot

Pour the chicory coffee into mugs and serve hot.
