Method

Prepare Ingredients

1

Chill the sparkling wine and orange juice in the refrigerator until very cold (at least 1–2 hours). For the brightest flavor, use freshly squeezed orange juice and chill it immediately after juicing.

2

If using garnish, rinse and pat dry the orange and berries. Cut a thin orange slice or peel a twist.

3

Glassware

Choose flute glasses (preferred) or a coupe. Make sure glasses are clean and cold — you can briefly chill them in the freezer (5–10 minutes) or by rinsing with cold water and draining.

4

Pour juice

Pour chilled orange juice into each flute to fill roughly half the glass. For one serving (about 4 fl oz / 120 ml total), pour 1/4 cup (60 ml) of orange juice into the flute. (When scaling, maintain a 1:1 ratio of sparkling wine to juice if you prefer equal parts.)

5

Add sparkling wine

Slowly top each glass with chilled sparkling wine. Pour gently down the side or over the back of a spoon to preserve bubbles. Fill to the top, aiming for an equal volume of wine and juice (about 1/4 cup / 60 ml each for a single 1/2-cup serving) or a 1:1 ratio overall.

6

Do not stir. Allow the bubbles to integrate the two liquids naturally. Stirring will flatten the sparkle.

7

Garnish & Serve

Garnish each glass with an orange slice or twist on the rim and/or a fresh berry on a cocktail pick if desired. Serve immediately while very cold and effervescent.
