Base & Fruit

Optional Add-ins

Method

Base & Fruit

1

Prepare fruit

Peel the banana and break it into large chunks. If using fresh berries instead of frozen, add a few ice cubes in the Optional Add-ins to chill the smoothie.

2

Place the banana chunks, frozen mixed berries, and fresh spinach into the blender jar.

Liquid & Creaminess

3

Pour 1 cup unsweetened almond milk into the blender over the fruit and greens to help the blades engage and blend smoothly.

4

Add 1 tablespoon plain Greek yogurt to give body and creaminess to the smoothie.

Sweetener & Boosters

5

Add 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup for a touch of sweetness, 1 teaspoon ground chia seeds for texture and omega-3s, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract to enhance flavor.

Optional Add-ins

6

If you want a colder, thicker drink, add 4 ice cubes. If you want extra protein, add 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder.

Blend & Finish

7

Secure the blender lid. Start blending on low speed for 10–15 seconds to break down large pieces, then increase to high and blend for 30–45 seconds, or until the mixture is completely smooth and no large bits of fruit or spinach remain. If the smoothie is too thick, add 1–2 tablespoons of additional almond milk and pulse to combine; if too thin, add another half banana or a few more ice cubes and blend again.

8

Taste and adjust sweetness as desired, adding up to 1 additional teaspoon of honey or maple syrup if needed. Give the blender a final quick pulse to mix.

9

Pour into a 16–20 oz glass and serve immediately. Optionally garnish with a few whole berries or a sprinkle of chia seeds on top.
