Method
Preparing Coffee
Measure Coffee
Measure out 0.5 cups of regular coffee beans and 0.5 cups of decaf coffee beans. You can adjust the amount based on your desired strength.
Grind Coffee Beans
Grind the measured coffee beans to a medium-coarse consistency suitable for drip brewing. Avoid grinding too fine to prevent over-extraction.
Boil Water
In a kettle, bring 4 cups of filtered water to a boil. Once boiling, let it cool for about 30 seconds to reach the ideal brewing temperature of around 200°F (93°C).
Prepare Dripper
Place a coffee filter in your drip coffee maker or dripper, ensuring it fits snugly. Rinse it with hot water to eliminate any paper taste and preheat the dripper.
Add Coffee Grounds
Add the ground coffee mixture evenly to the coffee filter, leveling it out for even extraction.
Pour Water
Slowly pour the hot water over the coffee grounds in a circular motion, starting from the center and moving outward. Allow the water to bloom for about 30 seconds before continuing to pour.
Brew Coffee
Let the coffee drip through the filter into the carafe below. This should take around 4-5 minutes for optimal extraction.
Serve
Once brewed, remove the dripper and filter. Pour the coffee into your favorite mug.
