Bourbon

Method

Bourbon

1

Measure and pour

Measure 2 oz Jim Beam bourbon with a jigger and pour it into a rocks glass or a Glencairn glass.

2

Add ice (optional)

If you prefer chilled bourbon, add one large ice cube or a few ice cubes to the glass. Large cube preferred to chill with minimal dilution.

3

Optional splash

If desired, add a teaspoon of water or a splash of sparkling water to open the aroma and flavors. Stir gently once with a bar spoon (about 3–4 gentle rotations).

Optional serving / garnish

4

If using a citrus twist, express the orange or lemon peel over the glass by holding the peel skin-side down above the drink and giving it a quick snap to release the oils. Rub the peel around the rim if you like, then drop it into the glass.

5

Serve immediately and enjoy neat, on the rocks, or with the small splash of water according to preference.
