Preparation

1

Chill the Glass

Begin by placing a cocktail glass in the freezer or filling it with ice water to chill while you prepare the drink.

2

Mix the Ingredients

In a mixing glass, add 2 oz of Old Forester Bourbon, 1 oz of sweet vermouth, and 2 dashes of Angostura bitters.

3

Add Ice

Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir the mixture gently for about 30 seconds until well-chilled.

4

Strain the Mixture

Remove the cocktail glass from the freezer or discard the ice water. Strain the mixture into the chilled glass.

5

Garnish

Twist a piece of orange peel over the drink to release its oils, then drop it into the glass. Add a maraschino cherry as a final garnish.
