Tostada Shells

Method

Preparation of Tostada Shells

1

Fry the Tortillas

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the corn tortillas one at a time. Fry each tortilla for about 1-2 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels.

2

Season the Shells

While the tostada shells are still warm, sprinkle a little salt on both sides to enhance the flavor.

Preparation of Ceviche Topping

3

Cook the Shrimp

In a pot of boiling water, cook the shrimp for 2-3 minutes or until they turn pink and opaque. Drain and let cool, then chop into small pieces.

4

Mix the Ceviche Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the diced tomato, chopped red onion, cooked shrimp, and chopped cilantro. Add lime juice, salt, and black pepper to taste. Stir well to combine all ingredients.

Assembly

5

Assemble the Tostada Ceviche

Take each crispy tostada shell and generously top with the ceviche mixture. Serve immediately for the freshest taste.
