Prepare glass
Chill a copper mug or highball glass if available by placing it in the freezer for a few minutes or filling with ice water while you prepare the ingredients.
Build the cocktail
Discard any ice water and fill the chilled mug with fresh cubed ice (about 1 cup). Pour 2 oz Jack Daniel's Tennessee Fire over the ice.
Add citrus
Add 0.5 oz fresh lime juice and 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice to the mug. If you prefer a slightly sweeter drink, add 0.25 oz simple syrup.
Top with ginger beer
Top the mixture with approximately 4 oz of chilled ginger beer. Stir gently with a bar spoon or long spoon 6–8 times to combine and maintain carbonation.
Notes
Adjust ginger beer volume to taste for spiciness and strength. Use fresh citrus for best balance; increase simple syrup up to 0.5 oz if you prefer sweeter cocktails.
