Method

Make the Sauce

1

Prepare the Jalapeno Sauce

In a blender, combine the jalapeno peppers (stems removed), garlic cloves, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, salt, and black pepper. Blend until smooth.

2

Cook the Sauce

Transfer the blended sauce to a saucepan over medium heat. Simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally to meld the flavors. Adjust seasoning as needed.

Prepare the Sausage

3

Cook the Sausage and Onion

In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Slice the house smoked sausage into bite-sized pieces and add to the skillet. Slice the onion and add it to the skillet as well. Cook for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sausage is browned and onions are soft.

4

Combine with Sauce

Once the sausage and onions are cooked, pour the jalapeno sauce over them in the skillet. Stir to combine and let everything heat together for another 5 minutes.

Prepare the Ricotta

5

Mix the Ricotta

In a bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, fresh basil (chopped), and salt. Stir until well combined.

Assemble the Dish

6

Serve

Spoon the spicy sausage and jalapeno mixture onto plates. Top with a generous dollop of the ricotta mixture. Serve warm.
