Preparation Instructions

1

Prepare the Shortcake

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.

2

Mix Ingredients

Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in milk and vanilla extract until just combined.

3

Bake Shortcake

Pour the batter into three greased 8-inch round baking pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool completely.

4

Prepare Strawberries and Whipped Cream

In a bowl, mix sliced strawberries with strawberry preserves. In another bowl, beat heavy whipping cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.

5

Assemble the Shortcake

Once the cakes are cooled, place one layer on a serving plate. Spread a layer of the strawberry mixture on top, then add a layer of whipped cream. Repeat with the second layer and top with the final layer.

6

Final Touch

Top the final layer with remaining whipped cream and decorate with fresh strawberries. Serve immediately.
