Method
Burger Preparation
Prepare the Patties
In a bowl, season the ground prime beef with salt and black pepper to taste. Form the beef into a burger patty about 1 inch thick.
Cook the Burger
In the same skillet, increase the heat to medium-high. Place the burger patty in the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side. Flip the patty and place a slice of American cheese on top. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the burger is cooked to your desired doneness.
Toast the Bun
While the burger is cooking, slice the sesame seed bun in half and lightly toast it in the skillet until golden brown.
Special Sauce Preparation
Mix the Sauce
In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, ketchup, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until smooth.
Assembly
Assemble the Burger
Spread a generous amount of the special sauce on the bottom half of the toasted bun. Layer on the greens, followed by the cooked burger patty with melted cheese, crispy bacon, pickles, and slices of red onion. Top with the other half of the bun.
