Method

Prepare the Protein

1

Cook Ground Beef or Chicken

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef or chicken. Cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks.

2

Add Black Beans

If using black beans, drain and rinse them. Add them to the skillet and stir to combine.

3

Season the Meat

Sprinkle the taco seasoning (chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper) over the meat. Stir well to coat and cook for an additional 5 minutes.

Prepare the Tortillas

4

Warm the Tortillas

In a separate skillet or on a griddle, heat the corn tortillas over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side until warm and pliable. For crispy tacos, fry in hot oil for about 1-2 minutes until golden.

Assemble the Tacos

5

Fill the Tortillas

Take a warm tortilla and add a generous portion of the cooked protein mixture into the center.

6

Add Toppings

Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, sour cream, sliced jalapeños, and fresh cilantro to taste.

Serve

7

Enjoy Your Tacos

Fold the tortilla over the filling and serve immediately with lime wedges on the side if desired.
