Method
Preparation of Chicken Wings
Clean the Chicken Wings
Rinse the chicken wings under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
Season the Wings
In a large bowl, toss the chicken wings with salt and black pepper until evenly coated.
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 375°F (190°C). Use a thermometer for accuracy.
Frying the Chicken Wings
Fry the Wings
Carefully add the chicken wings to the hot oil in batches. Fry for 8-10 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. Make sure not to overcrowd the pot.
Drain the Wings
Using a slotted spoon, remove the wings from the oil and transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Preparing the Buffalo Sauce
Melt the Butter
In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter until fully liquid.
Combine Ingredients
Add the hot sauce, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, vinegar, and honey to the melted butter. Stir until well combined and heated through.
Tossing and Serving
Toss the Wings
In a large mixing bowl, combine the fried chicken wings with the buffalo sauce. Toss until the wings are evenly coated.
Serve
Serve the buffalo chicken wings hot with your choice of dipping sauces, such as blue cheese or ranch dressing, and celery sticks.
