Method

Preparing French Toast

1

Whisk the Batter

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, maple syrup, bourbon, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until well combined.

2

Soak the Bread

Dip each slice of thick-cut bread into the egg mixture, making sure to coat both sides well. Allow the bread to soak for about 30 seconds to absorb the batter.

3

Cook the French Toast

Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease it with butter or oil. Place the soaked bread slices on the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.

Preparing the Toppings

4

Prepare the Strawberries

While the French toast is cooking, wash and slice the fresh strawberries. Set aside.

5

Toast the Pecans

In a separate small pan, toast the Georgia pecans over medium heat for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are fragrant and slightly browned. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
