Aperol Spritz (single serving)

Optional variation - Built Aperol on Rocks

Method

Aperol Spritz (single serving)

1

Chill glass

Optional: Place a large wine glass or stemmed goblet in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill it with ice and water while you prepare ingredients to chill it.

2

Add ice

Fill the chilled wine glass about three-quarters full with fresh ice cubes (roughly 1 cup).

3

Pour Prosecco

Pour 3 oz of cold Prosecco into the glass gently down the side to preserve bubbles.

4

Add Aperol

Slowly pour 2 oz of Aperol into the glass. Pouring it after the Prosecco helps combine without losing effervescence.

5

Top with soda

Add 1 oz of chilled soda water to lighten the drink and bring a slight spritz.

6

Stir gently

Use a bar spoon or the handle of a spoon to stir the cocktail once or twice gently to integrate the ingredients without flattening the bubbles.

7

Garnish and serve

Garnish with one fresh orange slice on the rim or dropped into the drink. Serve immediately.

8

Fill glass

Fill an old-fashioned glass with ice (about 1 cup).

9

Add Aperol and soda

Pour 2 oz Aperol over the ice and top with about 1 oz soda water. This version is still effervescent but simpler and lower in alcohol than straight Aperol.

10

Garnish

Add an orange wheel as garnish. Stir once gently and serve.
