Preparation

1

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

2

Prepare the Baking Pan

Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.

Mixing Ingredients

3

Combine Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

4

Mix Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, beat the eggs. Then add milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the eggs and whisk until smooth.

5

Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.

Baking

6

Bake the Cake

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

7

Cool the Cake

Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove it from the pan and transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Serving

8

Prepare Toppings

Slice the fresh strawberries and set them aside. In a small bowl, whisk the powdered sugar with a tablespoon of water to create a glaze, if desired.

9

Serve the Cake

Once the cake is completely cool, slice it and serve each piece topped with fresh strawberries and a dollop of whipped cream.
