Cake Preparation

1

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the cake.

2

Prepare the Cake Batter

In a large mixing bowl, cream together 0.5 cups of unsalted butter and 1.5 cups of granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in 3 large eggs one at a time, then stir in 1 tsp of vanilla extract.

3

Combine Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, sift together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 tsp of baking powder, and 0.5 tsp of salt.

4

Mix the Batter

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with 0.5 cups of milk, starting and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.

5

Bake the Cake

Pour the batter into a greased 9-inch round cake pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

6

Cool the Cake

Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then, transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Frosting Preparation

7

Make the Frosting

In a mixing bowl, beat 1 cup of unsalted butter until creamy. Gradually add 4 cups of powdered sugar, mixing well after each addition. Add in 2 tbs of heavy cream and 1 tsp of vanilla extract, and beat until light and fluffy.

Decoration

8

Decorate the Cake

Once the cake has cooled completely, spread the frosting evenly over the top and sides of the cake. Garnish with fresh strawberries and mint leaves for a beautiful presentation.
