Crab Cake

Method

Crab Cake Preparation

1

Prepare the Lion's Mane Mushrooms

Clean the Lion's Mane mushrooms and chop them into small pieces. You should have about 2 cups of chopped mushrooms.

2

Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the chopped Lion's Mane mushrooms, breadcrumbs, egg, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Old Bay seasoning, finely chopped green onions, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

3

Form the Cakes

Using your hands, form the mixture into patties, about 2-3 inches in diameter. You should get around 6-8 patties depending on size.

4

Cook the Crab Cakes

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the crab cakes to the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy. Remove from heat and let them rest on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.

Remoulade Preparation

5

Combine Ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, capers, lemon juice, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until smooth and all ingredients are blended.

6

Chill the Remoulade

Cover the remoulade and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
