Prepare glass

If you want a lightly seasoned rim, run a lime wedge around the rim of a highball or Collins glass and dip the rim into coarse sea salt or tajin. This is optional.

Add ice

Fill the prepared glass with crushed ice about 3/4 full (approximately 1 cup).

Mix citrus & sweetener

In a small mixing glass or shaker, combine 1 oz fresh lime juice, 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice, and 0.5 oz simple syrup. Stir briefly to combine — no vigorous shaking required since this is carbonated and will otherwise foam.

Build the drink

Pour the citrus + simple syrup mixture over the crushed ice. Add 16 oz caffeine-free lemon-lime sparkling beverage to the glass. Top with 4 oz chilled club soda to give extra effervescence and lighten the sweetness. Gently stir once or twice with a bar spoon to integrate.

Garnish and finish

Twist the lemon peel over the drink to express oils, then drop the twist into the glass. Add the lime wheel on the rim (or float it). Clap the mint sprig between your palms to release aroma and tuck it into the drink near the rim. Serve immediately with a straw.

Taste and adjust: If you prefer it sweeter, stir in an additional 1/4 oz simple syrup. For more tartness add 1/4 oz more lime juice. Serve cold.
