Pumpkin Cornbread

Method

Pumpkin Cornbread

1

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to ensure it’s hot enough for baking the cornbread.

2

Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cornmeal, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and ground cardamom until well combined.

3

Combine Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, mix together the pumpkin puree, eggs, buttermilk, and melted butter until smooth and fully combined.

4

Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently fold together until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

5

Prepare the Baking Dish

Grease a 9x9 inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

6

Bake the Cornbread

Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

7

Cool and Serve

Once baked, remove the cornbread from the oven and allow it to cool in the baking dish for about 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with Kombu Whip and Cardamom Crunch.
