Bread Preparation
Slice the Bread
Using a sharp knife, slice the baguette or Italian bread into 1/2 inch thick slices.
Toast the Bread
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange the bread slices on a baking sheet, brush both sides with olive oil, and toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown.
Topping Preparation
Prepare the Tomatoes
Dice the fresh tomatoes and place them in a mixing bowl.
Chop the Basil
Finely chop the fresh basil leaves and add them to the bowl with the tomatoes.
Add Garlic
Minced the garlic cloves and add them to the tomato and basil mixture.
Season the Mixture
Sprinkle the salt and black pepper over the tomato mixture and stir gently to combine.
Add Balsamic Glaze
Drizzle the balsamic glaze over the mixture and stir gently to incorporate.
Assembly
Top the Bread
Once the bread is toasted, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly. Spoon the tomato topping generously over each slice of toasted bread.
