Method
Base & Spirit
Measure spirits
Add 2 tablespoons Kawaba whiskey and 1 tablespoon pear liqueur into a cocktail shaker.
Citrus & Brightening
Add 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice and 1/4 oz fresh yuzu or lime juice to the shaker. These brighten the whiskey and lift the pear notes.
Sweetener & Texture
Add 1/2 teaspoon simple syrup and 1/2 tablespoon pear nectar or pear purée for sweetness and body. If using egg white for a silky foam, add half an egg white now.
Dry shake
If using egg white, close the shaker and shake vigorously without ice for 12–15 seconds to emulsify and create foam.
Spice & Aromatics
Add 1/2 teaspoon ginger cordial (or ginger liqueur) and 2 dashes of aromatic bitters to the shaker. These introduce warming spice and complexity.
Chill & Serve
Add 4 ice cubes to the shaker. Shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until well chilled and the exterior of the shaker feels cold.
Double-strain the cocktail into a chilled coupe or rocks glass (use a fine mesh strainer if you used pear purée or egg white) to remove ice shards and solids.
Finish & Garnish
Garnish with a thin pear slice or a small pear 'pearl' placed on the rim or floated on the foam. Add a micro-mint or shiso leaf for aroma and a dehydrated lime wheel or lemon twist for contrast.
Optionally, express a citrus peel over the top (lemon or lime) to release oils, then discard or place on the rim.
