Ingredients

Steak

Crispy Mashed Potatoes

Seasonal Vegetables

Preparation

Cooking the Steak

1. Prepare the Steak

Remove the Prime New York Strip Steak from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.

2. Sear the Steak

Heat olive oil in a skillet over high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the steak and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or to your desired doneness. Let the steak rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Making Crispy Mashed Potatoes

3. Cook the Potatoes

Peel and cut the russet potatoes into chunks. Boil in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and return to the pot.

4. Mash the Potatoes

Add butter, heavy cream, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper to the potatoes. Mash until smooth and creamy.

5. Prepare for Baking

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Transfer the mashed potatoes to a baking dish and top with parmesan cheese and breadcrumbs.

6. Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the top is golden and crispy.

Cooking Seasonal Vegetables

7. Sauté the Vegetables

In a separate skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add mixed seasonal vegetables, salt, and black pepper. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until tender but still crisp.
