Method

Preparation

1

Prepare the Beef

Season the beef roast with salt and black pepper on all sides.

2

Sear the Beef

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add a little oil and sear the beef roast for about 3-4 minutes on each side until browned.

3

Slice the Onion and Garlic

While the beef is searing, thinly slice the onion and mince the garlic cloves.

Cooking

4

Combine Ingredients in Slow Cooker

Transfer the seared beef to a slow cooker. Add the sliced onion, minced garlic, beef broth, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce.

5

Cook the Beef

Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours, until the beef is tender and easily shredded.

Serving

6

Prepare the Rolls

Once the beef is cooked, remove it from the slow cooker and let it rest for a few minutes before shredding it with two forks.

7

Assemble the Dips

Slice the French bread rolls in half, and fill them with the shredded beef. If desired, add provolone cheese and other optional toppings.

8

Serve with Broth

Serve the sandwiches with a small bowl of the beef broth for dipping.
