Method
Prepare Coffee
Brew
Brew 1 cup of strong hot coffee using your preferred method (drip, French press or espresso slightly diluted). Pour the coffee into a pre-warmed 10–12 oz mug to keep the drink hot.
Mix Drink
Combine Baileys and (optional) whiskey
Add 2 tablespoons Baileys Irish Cream to the hot coffee. If you want a boozier drink, add 1/2 tablespoon Irish whiskey. Stir gently to combine.
Sweeten (optional)
If you prefer a sweeter drink, dissolve 1 teaspoon sugar (granulated or brown) into the hot coffee mixture, stirring until fully dissolved.
Finish & Garnish
Add cream
Float or spoon 2 tablespoons lightly whipped heavy cream on top. To do this, lightly whip the cream so it holds soft peaks, then gently spoon it over the back of a spoon onto the coffee so it sits on the surface.
Garnish
Sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon grated dark chocolate or a dusting of cocoa powder over the cream. Optionally place a whole coffee bean on top for presentation.
Serve immediately while hot. Offer a small spoon so the drinker can dip through the cream if desired.
