Coffee & Coffee Liquids
Brew and chill espresso
Pull a single shot (about 1 oz) of freshly brewed espresso. Let it rest briefly (20–30 seconds) so it’s hot but not boiling; the brief rest helps preserve crema when shaking. If you prefer a slightly cooler drink, let the espresso cool for 1–2 minutes.
Measure 2 oz Guji cold brew. If using a concentrate, dilute according to the concentrate’s instructions so the flavor is balanced (typical ratio 1:1 concentrate:water) before measuring 2 oz.
Spirits & Flavoring
Add 1.5 oz vodka and 0.5 oz vanilla syrup to a cocktail shaker.
Dilution & Finish
Add the hot espresso and the 2 oz Guji cold brew to the shaker with the vodka and vanilla syrup.
Fill the shaker with 6 ice cubes (enough to chill and dilute). Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds. A hard shake is necessary to chill, slightly dilute, and create a silky texture and light foam from the espresso crema.
If serving chilled over ice: Fill a rocks or coupe glass with 1 cup of fresh ice (or leave the coupe empty for neat). Double-strain the cocktail into the prepared glass to remove small ice chips and espresso particles. If serving neat, strain into a chilled coupe; if over ice, strain over fresh ice.
Garnish with 3 coffee beans placed on the foam or floating on the surface. Serve immediately.
