Preparation

1

Prepare the Ingredients

Rinse the hominy thoroughly under cold water and set aside. Chop the cilantro, reserving a small amount for garnish. Slice the lime into wedges, chop the onion, slice the radishes, and dice the avocado.

Cooking

2

Cook the Broth

In a large pot, combine the chicken broth and red chile flakes. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium heat.

3

Add the Hominy

Once the broth is boiling, add the rinsed hominy to the pot. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 30 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

4

Add Cilantro

Stir in the chopped cilantro and let it simmer for an additional 5 minutes.

Serving

5

Serve the Pozole

Ladle the pozole into bowls and top with your choice of optional toppings, such as lime wedges, chopped onion, sliced radishes, and diced avocado. Garnish with reserved cilantro and serve warm.
