Method

Preparation of Vegetables

1

Shred the Cabbage

Remove the outer leaves of the green and red cabbage, then cut them into quarters. Shred using a sharp knife or a food processor until you have about 4 cups of shredded green cabbage and 1 cup of shredded red cabbage.

2

Grate the Carrots

Peel the carrots and then use a grater to shred them until you have 1 cup of grated carrots.

Making the Dressing

3

Combine Ingredients

In a medium bowl, add 1 cup of mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, 2 tablespoons of sugar, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1 teaspoon of celery seed.

4

Whisk Together

Using a whisk or a fork, mix the dressing ingredients together until well combined and smooth.

Combining and Serving

5

Mix Vegetables and Dressing

In a large bowl, combine the shredded green and red cabbage along with the grated carrots. Pour the dressing over the vegetable mixture.

6

Toss to Combine

Using tongs or two large spoons, toss the vegetables and dressing together until everything is well coated.

7

Chill Before Serving

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

8

Serve

After chilling, give the coleslaw a quick stir and serve as a side dish with your favorite meal.
