Method

Preparing Tacu Tacu Patty

1

Combine Ingredients

In a large bowl, mix the cooked white rice and cooked canary beans together until well combined.

2

Sauté Aromatics

In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the finely chopped red onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Then add minced garlic, cumin powder, salt, and black pepper. Sauté for another 2 minutes.

3

Mix and Form Patties

Add the sautéed onion and garlic mixture to the rice and bean mixture. Stir in the chopped cilantro. Form the mixture into patties, about 1 inch thick.

4

Cook Patties

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.

Cooking Protein

5

Prepare Protein

In another skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Cook the protein of your choice (chicken, beef, or shrimp) until fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes depending on the protein type.

6

Add Vegetables

Add the sliced bell pepper to the protein and stir-fry for an additional 3-4 minutes until the peppers are slightly tender.

7

Final Touch

Pour in the soy sauce and stir to coat all ingredients evenly. Cook for another 2 minutes.

Garnishing

8

Serve

Place the cooked Tacu Tacu patties on a plate, top with the cooked protein and bell peppers, and garnish with sliced avocado and lime wedges.
