Arancia Melograno (Orange & Pomegranate Sparkler)

Method

Arancia Melograno (Orange & Pomegranate Sparkler)

1

Prepare glass and ice

Fill a highball or large tumbler with ice cubes (about 1 cup). Chill the glass briefly if desired.

2

Combine juices

In a mixing glass or small pitcher, pour 1 cup San Pellegrino Aranciata (or freshly squeezed orange juice) and 1/2 cup pomegranate juice. Stir gently to combine.

3

Adjust sweetness (optional)

Taste the mixture. If you prefer sweeter, add 1 teaspoon simple syrup and stir until dissolved.

4

Add sparkling water

Top the juice mixture with 1/2 cup chilled sparkling water. Stir once gently to preserve carbonation and create a layered effervescent texture.

5

Finish and garnish

Strain or pour the mixture over the prepared glass with ice. Add 2 tablespoons pomegranate seeds and a half orange wheel or twist. Slap 4 mint leaves between your palms to release aroma and tuck into the glass as garnish.

6

Serve immediately with a stirrer or straw. Estimated single serving as written.

9

Sweetness adjustment (optional)

Taste and add 1 teaspoon simple syrup if you prefer a sweeter beverage. Stir until incorporated.

10

Top with sparkling water

Add 1/2 cup chilled sparkling water to the citrus mixture and stir gently to keep bubbles.

11

Garnish and serve

Pour over the prepared glass with ice. Garnish with 2 blood orange slices and an optional sprig of thyme or rosemary. Serve immediately.
