Method

Preparation

1

Chill glass

Place a martini or coupe glass in the freezer for at least 5 minutes or fill it with ice water while you prepare the cocktail to ensure it's well chilled.

2

If using fresh lychee, peel and remove the pit. If using canned lychee, drain and reserve a teaspoon of the syrup if you want extra lychee flavor or sweetness.

Mixing

3

Add the Absolut Elyx (2 oz), lychee liqueur or 1/2 oz lychee syrup (0.5 oz), and blanc vermouth (0.5 oz) into a cocktail shaker.

4

Add the peeled lychee (1), 0.25 oz fresh lime juice, and 0.25 oz simple syrup only if your lychee ingredient is unsweetened and you prefer a slightly sweeter drink.

5

Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup) and secure the lid. Shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is very cold and well-chilled.

6

Double-strain (use a fine-mesh strainer in addition to the shaker strainer) into the chilled martini or coupe glass to remove any small lychee solids and ice shards. If you prefer a smoother crystal-clear drink, use a fine strainer only.

Garnish & Serve

7

Thread the reserved whole lychee (or a canned lychee) onto a cocktail pick and rest it on the rim of the glass, or drop it into the drink.

8

Optionally express a lemon or lime twist over the surface to add a subtle citrus aroma, then discard or place the twist on the rim.

9

Serve immediately while cold.
