Burger Preparation

1

Prepare the Meat

In a large mixing bowl, combine the brisket and chuck beef. Use a meat grinder or food processor to grind the meat until it reaches a coarse consistency. Season the meat mixture with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well until the spices are evenly distributed.

2

Form the Patties

Divide the seasoned meat mixture into 4 equal portions. Shape each portion into a patty, ensuring they are slightly larger than the burger buns, as they will shrink while cooking.

3

Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat. Make sure it's hot enough to sear the patties properly.

4

Cook the Burgers

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes on the other side for medium-rare. If you prefer them more done, adjust the cooking time accordingly.

5

Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover the grill or skillet to melt the cheese.

6

Toast the Buns

While the cheese is melting, slice the burger buns in half and lightly toast them on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

7

Assemble the Burgers

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cheese-topped patty, sliced tomatoes, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.

8

Serve

Serve the burgers immediately with your favorite sides, such as fries or a salad.
