Method

Base Spirit

1

Opening and resting

Remove the cork or cap from the Metaxa 7 Star bottle. Pour 750 ml (the full bottle) into a clean decanter if using; decanting is optional but helps the spirit breathe and present better. Let rest for 5–10 minutes before serving to allow aromas to open.

2

Serving temperature

Serve Metaxa 7 Star slightly cooler than room temperature. If you prefer it chilled, place the decanter or bottle in the refrigerator for 20–30 minutes before serving. Avoid freezing — excessive cold dulls the flavor.

Optional Serving Additions

3

Preparing ice

If serving on the rocks, place 1–2 large ice cubes into each rocks glass immediately before pouring. Large ice melts slower and keeps the brandy from diluting too quickly. Use the 'to taste' amount of ice as guests prefer.

4

Garnish

Express an orange peel over each filled glass: hold the peel over the glass, skin-side down, and give it a quick twist to release the oils, then rub the rim with the peel and drop it in as garnish. This brightens the spirit's aromatics.

5

Snack pairing

Serve a small bowl of toasted filberts or almonds (about 100 g) alongside the glasses. The nutty, slightly bitter notes complement the sweet, floral, and spice characteristics of Metaxa 7 Star.

Glassware & Tools

6

Glass selection

Use short rocks glasses or a brandy snifter to concentrate aromas. If using a snifter, warming the bowl briefly in your hands before sipping helps release additional flavors.

7

Pouring

Pour 45–60 ml of Metaxa 7 Star per serving into each glass. If hosting, use the decanter to pour and present. Adjust pour size to guest preference (standard tasting pour ~45 ml; generous pour ~60 ml).
