1

Prepare glass

Rub a lime wedge around the rim of a rocks or coupe glass. Pour coarse salt onto a small plate and press the moistened rim into the salt to coat. Set the glass aside.

2

Build and shake

Add the blanco tequila (2 oz), fresh lime juice (1 oz), orange liqueur (1 oz), and agave syrup (0.5 oz, if using) into a cocktail shaker. Fill the shaker with ice (enough to nearly fill).

3

Shake

Secure the shaker and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds, until the shaker is well chilled and slightly frosted on the outside.

4

Strain and serve

Double-strain the cocktail (using the shaker lid and a fine mesh strainer if available) into the prepared glass over fresh ice if serving on the rocks, or without ice if serving straight up.

5

Garnish

Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim. Serve immediately.
