Method

Preparation of Ingredients

1

Prepare the Toppings

Wash and shred the lettuce into small pieces. Prepare the guacamole by mashing ripe avocados and mixing with lime juice, salt, and diced tomatoes if desired.

2

Prepare the Cheese and Beans

In a saucepan, heat the refried beans over low heat until warm. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking. Pre-grate the cheddar cheese if not using pre-shredded cheese.

Assembling the Nachos

3

Layer the Tortilla Chips

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Spread the tortilla chips evenly on a large baking sheet.

4

Add Beans and Cheese

Spoon refried beans over the tortilla chips, spreading evenly. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese generously on top of the chips and beans.

5

Melt the Cheese

Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 10 minutes or until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly.

Final Assembly

6

Top with Fresh Ingredients

Remove nachos from the oven. Immediately add shredded lettuce, guacamole, and dollops of sour cream on top. Add jalapeños to taste.

7

Season to Taste

Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and black pepper to taste before serving.
