Preparation
Chill and prepare glass
If the Perrier bottle is not well chilled, place it in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. Optionally chill the glass in the freezer for 10 minutes or fill with ice and water for 2–3 minutes then discard to cool the glass.
Add ice (optional)
Place 3–4 fresh ice cubes into the chilled highball glass if you prefer your Perrier extra cold. Note: adding ice will slightly dilute the water as it melts.
Open the bottle
Hold the bottle upright on a stable surface. Twist the cap off slowly to preserve carbonation; avoid shaking. If using a glass bottle with a twist-off cap, twist firmly and gently to open.
Serve
Serve immediately while effervescence is at its peak. Offer a straw or stirring spoon if the guest prefers, but stirring will reduce carbonation more quickly.
