Cocktail

Method

Prepare Glass

1

Run the lime wedge around the rim of a rocks or coupe glass. Dip the rim into coarse salt or Tajín to coat. Set the glass aside.

Infuse & Muddle

2

Muddle jalapeño

Place 2 thin jalapeño slices in a shaker. If you want more heat, include seeds; for milder heat remove seeds. Gently muddle once or twice to release aroma and a small amount of juice — avoid over-muddling which makes it too spicy.

Mix Cocktail

3

Combine ingredients

Add blanco tequila (2 oz), fresh watermelon juice (2 oz), fresh lime juice (1 oz), Cointreau (1/2 oz), coconut water (1 oz), and agave syrup (1/2 tsp, optional) into the shaker with the muddled jalapeño.

4

Add ice and shake

Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup). Shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until well chilled and slightly diluted.

5

Double strain

Double-strain the cocktail into the prepared rimmed glass over fresh ice (if using a rocks glass) or neat (if using a coupe). Double-straining (using a fine mesh) removes jalapeño bits and pulp for a cleaner drink.

Finish & Garnish

6

Garnish with a thin watermelon slice or a jalapeño wheel on the rim and a lime wedge. Taste and, if the watermelon is very tart or the drink needs balancing, add a small splash (1/4 tsp) more agave syrup and gently stir.
