Prep & Glass
Chill glass
Place a martini or coupe glass in the freezer for at least 10 minutes before making the cocktail to ensure it's nicely chilled.
Drizzle chocolate syrup inside the chilled glass: hold the glass at an angle and rotate while letting a tablespoon of chocolate syrup run along the inside to create a marbled/rimmed effect. Return to freezer or set aside.
Mixing
Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice (about 3/4 to 1 cup) to properly chill and dilute the drink.
Add vodka (2.5 oz), chocolate liqueur (1 oz), coffee liqueur (0.5 oz, optional), heavy cream (0.75 oz) and simple syrup (0.25 oz, optional) into the shaker.
Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 12–18 seconds until the outside of the shaker becomes very cold and the cream has emulsified, creating a silky texture and light froth.
Garnish & Serve
Sprinkle the chocolate shavings (about 1 tsp) over the surface of the cocktail.
Optionally float a chocolate-covered espresso bean on top for aroma and presentation.
Serve immediately. If making multiple, prepare each glass and shake each cocktail individually for best texture.
