Method

Cake Preparation

1

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking dish.

2

Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

3

Beat Eggs and Combine

In another bowl, beat the eggs until they are light and frothy. Add the milk and vanilla extract, mixing well.

4

Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

Gradually add the egg mixture to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined and smooth.

5

Bake the Cake

Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

6

Cool the Cake

Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.

Milk Mixture Preparation

7

Combine Milk Ingredients

In a medium bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and whole milk until smooth.

8

Soak the Cake

Once the cake is completely cooled, poke holes all over the top with a fork. Slowly pour the milk mixture over the cake, allowing it to soak in.

9

Chill the Cake

Cover the cake with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.

Whipped Topping Preparation

10

Whip the Cream

In a large mixing bowl, add the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Using a hand mixer or stand mixer, whip until soft peaks form.

11

Top the Cake

Spread the whipped cream over the top of the soaked cake evenly.

Garnishing

12

Add Garnish

Sprinkle ground cinnamon over the whipped topping and add fresh berries on top, if desired.

13

Serve

Slice the cake into squares and serve chilled. Enjoy your delicious Tres Leches!
