Method

For the Avocado Toast

1

Prepare the Avocado Mixture

In a medium bowl, mash the ripe avocados with a fork until smooth. Add lemon juice, salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and chopped cilantro. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.

2

Toast the Bread

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the slices of whole grain bread on a baking tray and toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

3

Assemble the Avocado Toast Bites

Once the bread is toasted, remove it from the oven. Spread a generous amount of the avocado mixture on each slice of bread. Cut the toast into bite-sized pieces or quarters.

For the Maple Glazed Bacon

4

Cook the Bacon

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon strips until they are crispy and browned, about 4-5 minutes per side.

5

Glaze the Bacon

Once the bacon is cooked, drizzle maple syrup over each strip. Sprinkle with black pepper. Continue cooking for an additional 2 minutes, turning the strips to coat them evenly in the glaze.

6

Cool and Cut

Remove the bacon from the skillet and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess grease. Once cool enough to handle, chop the glazed bacon into small pieces.
