1

Prepare glass

Fill a highball or Collins glass with ice to chill while you mix the drink. Alternatively, add fresh ice to the serving glass at the end.

2

Combine ingredients

In a cocktail shaker, add 1 cup of ice, 1.5 oz Malibu coconut rum, 0.5 oz white rum (if using), 0.75 oz Blue Curaçao, 3 oz pineapple juice, 0.5 oz fresh lime juice, and 0.25 oz simple syrup (if using).

3

Shake

Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for about 10–15 seconds, until the shaker is well chilled and slightly frosted.

4

Strain and layer (optional)

If you chilled a serving glass, discard the chilling ice and add fresh ice. Strain the shaken cocktail into the prepared glass over fresh ice. For a more pronounced blue hue, pour the Blue Curaçao slowly over the back of a spoon into the finished drink to create a subtle layered effect; otherwise it will be evenly blue when shaken.

5

Garnish and serve

Garnish with a pineapple wedge and/or a maraschino cherry, give the drink a gentle stir to integrate flavors (if layered, stir lightly to keep some gradient), and serve with a straw.
