Method
Prepare Glass
Select cup size
Choose an appropriate 12–16 oz cup (or other size requested). If the customer requested an extra‑large fill, use the corresponding larger cup.
Fill the cup about three‑quarters full with ice cubes (approximately 6–10 cubes depending on cup size). Adjust ice quantity per customer preference.
Dispense Soda
Choose soda flavor
Confirm the customer's choice from the available options: Coke (regular), Coke Zero, Cherry Coke, Dr. Pepper, Ginger Ale, or Lemonade.
Position cup
Place the cup under the selected fountain nozzle so the spout is just above the rim and centered over the ice to reduce splashing.
Activate dispenser
Press and hold the lever or button for the selected soda. Start dispensing slowly to let the liquid saturate the ice and to control foam. Aim to fill to about 1/4 inch (3–5 mm) below the rim to allow for carbonation and a straw.
For carbonated lemonade or ginger ale
If serving lemonade that is carbonated on the fountain line, dispense the same as other sodas. If a still lemonade is requested but only carbonated is available, note customer preference and advise accordingly.
Avoid overflow
If foam builds up (especially with cola or root beer style sodas), pause dispensing briefly to let foam settle, then continue until desired level is reached.
Finish & Garnish
Wipe any drips from the cup rim with a napkin. If requested or appropriate, add a lemon wedge on the rim for lemonade or ginger ale.
If the customer ordered Cherry Coke and wants extra garnish, drop a maraschino cherry into the drink.
Insert a straw if requested and hand to the customer with a lid if using a takeaway cup.
Notes & Variations
Mixing: If the customer requests a mix (for example 50/50 Coke and Dr. Pepper), dispense the first flavor about halfway, then top with the second to achieve an even blend. For layered or specialty mixes, dispense slowly to control carbonation and foam.
Temperature: Ensure the fountain lines are chilled and CO2 levels are correctly set to maintain carbonation and reduce excessive foaming.
Allergen & ingredient info: Provide ingredient or allergen info per company policy if a customer requests it.
