Method

Preparation

1

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.

2

Mix Dry Ingredients

In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

Mixing

3

Cream Butter and Sugars

In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.

4

Add Eggs and Vanilla

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, mix in the vanilla extract until fully incorporated.

5

Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, starting and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.

Add-ins and Baking

6

Incorporate Optional Add-ins

If using, fold in the chocolate chips and nuts until evenly distributed throughout the batter.

7

Bake

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

8

Cool and Serve

Allow the blonde to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Cut into squares and serve.
