Falafel Ingredients

Method

Falafel Preparation

1

Soak Chickpeas

Rinse the dried chickpeas and soak them in water overnight, or for at least 8 hours.

2

Blend Ingredients

Drain and rinse the soaked chickpeas. In a food processor, combine chickpeas, parsley, cilantro, garlic, onion, cumin, coriander, baking powder, salt, and pepper. Pulse until the mixture is coarse but holds together.

3

Form Balls

Transfer the mixture to a bowl and stir in the flour. Use your hands to form small balls or patties, about 1 to 2 inches in diameter.

4

Heat Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat the oil over medium-high heat until hot.

5

Fry Falafel

Carefully drop the falafel balls into the hot oil, frying in batches. Fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

6

Serve

Serve the falafel warm with sriracha, tzatziki, and balsamic reduction on the side.
