Method

Blend & Bottle

1

Combine gins

In a clean mixing pitcher or large measuring cup, pour the Beefeater London Dry Gin (1 cup), Bombay Sapphire London Dry Gin (1 cup), Hayman's Old Tom Gin (1/2 cup) and Hayman's Sloe Gin (1/2 cup). This yields a balanced, layered gin blend that showcases classic dry juniper and citrus, a slightly sweeter Old Tom backbone and the fruity sloe finish.

2

Stir and marry

Gently stir the gin blend with a long bar spoon for about 20–30 seconds to ensure an even mixture. Do not over-agitate; avoid aeration to preserve aromatic oils.

3

Rest

Transfer the blended gin to a clean glass bottle or jar with a tight-fitting lid. Let rest at room temperature for at least 4 hours, ideally 24 hours, to allow flavors to harmonize. For a quicker use, 30 minutes will still yield a good blend.

4

Chill (optional)

If you prefer your gin cold, refrigerate the bottle for 2–4 hours before serving or store in the freezer (if bottles are freezer-safe) for 1–2 hours. Note: high-sugar liqueurs like sloe gin may slightly thicken when chilled.

Serve

5

Neat or on ice

Serve the blended gin neat in a chilled copa or tumbler, or pour over a large ice cube (1–2 oz per serving). For a single serving, measure approximately 60 ml (2 oz) gin per glass.

6

Garnish

Express a lemon peel over the glass to release oils, wipe the rim with the peel and drop it into the drink. For sloe-forward servings, consider adding a thin lemon wheel or a single sloe berry if available.

7

Storage

Store any remaining blended gin in a cool, dark place or refrigerated. Use within 6–12 months for best aroma and flavor; note that oxidation over long periods can diminish bright top notes.
