Method

Preparation

1

Marinate the Filet

In a small bowl, combine olive oil, minced garlic, chopped rosemary, salt, and black pepper. Place the filet mignon pieces in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag and pour the marinade over the meat. Ensure the filets are well coated. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for enhanced flavor.

Cooking

2

Cook the Filet

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the filets from the marinade and allow excess marinade to drip off. Place the filets on the grill or skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or longer depending on your desired doneness. Use a meat thermometer to check for internal temperature (130°F for medium-rare).

3

Prepare Sauce (Optional)

In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the red wine and beef broth, bringing the mixture to a simmer. Cook for about 10 minutes, or until the sauce reduces and slightly thickens. Drizzle over the cooked filets before serving.

Serving

4

Plate and Serve

Remove the filets from the grill or skillet and let them rest for 5 minutes. Serve the filets warm, drizzled with the sauce if desired, and enjoy with your favorite side dishes.
